(Bed Bug Detection & Inspection Services)

Independent / Unbiased / Discreet / Cost Effective / We ONLY Do Detection!

What separates HVBBD from all other canine assisted bed bug inspections is our true commitment to our craft. Our handlers and trainers are seasoned dog people with decades of working dog experience. Add the fact that our handler and dog teams are all certified by the World Detector Dog Organization (WDDO – the absolute most stringent certification process and testing in the USA), that is a winning combination anywhere.

Here at HVBBD, we are sure that we can provide the highest standard of excellence at a reasonable price with prompt service. That is real value! We are not in the pest control business, so we have nothing to gain by the treatment of any bed bugs detected by HVBBD. (At our client request, we can recommend a certified tech.)

Our dogs & handlers are also specially trained and certified by Forensic and Scientific Investigations (FSI), a national leading and well respected dog training institute that specializes in many disciplines including Scent Pest Detection, Mold Detection, Public Safety, and Law Enforcement.

Let us put your mind at ease with a canine inspection, if you suspect a problem. Getting ahead of a costly treatment by being proactive is far better than allowing an infestation to metastasize. For a Free Consultation, call Pete (our Master Handler &Trainer) at 914-906-8969 or Ralph (Lead Certified Handler) at 845-590-1493, to obtain further information and learn more about our premier services.

Why Have a Canine Inspection?

Dogs have been used for years by military and law enforcement agencies to detect explosives, narcotics, weapons and other threats to public safety. Dogs are now widely used in the private sector to detect mold, bed bugs, termites and other pests that present hazards to the health and well-being of humans. Our dogs are trained to detect the slightest trace amounts of bed bug odor that would normally go undetected by a human inspector and will work for play and love, not for profits or food.

Research and statistics support that a correctly trained dog has an extremely high accuracy rate of finding bed bugs. If the dog doesn’t find bed bugs, you can know with greater certainty that your home or business establishment is bed bug free.

There is an overwhelming amount of information about what to do when you have a bed bug problem. Add suggestions from friends along with urban legends and the solution can be hard to see. Experts and scientists do all agree on one thing – bed bugs are unique pests that cannot be managed through typical pest control practices. The majority of nuisance pests, such as cockroaches or ants, can be quickly eradicated with minimal disruption. Bed bugs are different. Early detection of bed bugs is key because once the insects have moved in it can take months to get rid of them.

The most difficult and important step in eliminating bed bugs is early detection and identification to correctly recognize these blood-feeding pests. While adult bed bugs can be fairly easy to see, bed bug eggs (which are white) and nymphs (which are virtually colorless) are nearly microscopic. Eggs hatch, and nymphs mature with each blood meal, quickly developing into fully-grown bed bugs, which are able to reproduce and form new colonies. Left undetected and untreated, they can rapidly turn into a massive infestation, making sleep for nearby humans a frightening experience.

Bed bugs are experts at burrowing and hiding in cracks and crevices. But with a canine inspection, you don’t need eyes to discover them. Due to a dog’s keen sense of smell, a properly trained canine can detect the presence of a bed bug infestation by the odor given off by live bed bugs and viable eggs in hiding places that might otherwise be missed on a visual inspection. A dog quickly locates bed bug trouble spots, ensuring treatments can efficiently target and eliminate bed bug infestations. Dogs can also be used in follow-up procedures after treatment to guarantee that all bed bugs have been killed.

Challenges in Bed Bug Detection –

Rockland | Orange | Westchester | Bergen | Sullivan | Manhattan | New York City | Brooklyn | Bronx | Bed Bug Inpectors | Bed Bug Dogs

Hudson Valley Bed Bug Detectives, Inc.

Proven and Trusted – We’ve all watched and cheered as a canine disaster recovery team sniffs out a lone survivor. Because of their keen sense of smell, dogs are able to locate everything from weapons and drugs, to missing persons, cancer and yes, bed bugs.

Speed and Accuracy Mean Ultimate Cost Savings – A dog has more than 220 million olfactory receptors in its nose, and a trained bed bug dog is looking for just one smell – bed bugs. These pests are quite secretive by nature and they are impressively flat, so bed bugs can hide nearly anywhere – in walls, in mattress seams – often in places no human could reasonably see them. It can take up to an hour for a human inspector to properly search just one bedroom for bed bugs. A dog can clear the same room in a matter of minutes and be more accurate.

Cutting-Edge Technology – The “nose” is cutting-edge technology and scientifically proven to be the most accurate inspection tool that can detect and pinpoint sources of bedbugs and critical information for lowering costs of eradicating this parasitic insect.

Greater Peace of Mind – Our dogs are trained to work by being rewarded with play, not food. You can rest easy if our dog doesn’t find bed bugs and know your money is well spent if it does.

Our dogs will generate quicker and more accurate results. Their sense of smell is extremely sensitive. It’s the most effective inspection tool that can detect and pinpoint sources of bed bugs which leads to lower bed bug treatment costs for property owners, and commercial establishments.

How to Get Rid Of Bed Bugs – PEST CONTROL CANADA

April 6th, 2019 by admin

Just spraying pesticides is not the solution

Control of bed bugs is best achieved by following an integrated pest management (IPM) approach that involves multiple tactics, such as preventive measures, sanitation, and chemicals, steam or heat applied to targeted sites.

Bed bugs are challenging pests to control. They hide in many tiny places, so inspections and treatments must be thorough. In most cases, it will be prudent to enlist the services of a professional pest control firm. (see professionals who specialize in bedbug control)

Experienced companies know where to look for bed bugs, and have an assortment of management tools at their disposal. Owners and occupants will need to assist the professional in important ways. Affording access for inspection and treatment is essential, and excess clutter should be removed. In some cases, infested mattresses and box springs will need to be discarded. Since bed bugs can disperse throughout a building, it may also be necessary to inspect adjoining rooms and apartments.

Bed bugs were treated years ago by wholesale spraying of pesticides. This practice is no longer permitted. Thoroughness is still important, but treatments today are generally more targeted and judicious. It often takes hours to properly inspect and treat a bed bug infestation, and follow-up visits are usually required.

Infested bedding and garments will need to be bagged and laundered (120F minimum), or discarded since these items cannot be treated with insecticides. Smaller items that cannot be laundered can sometimes be de-infested by heating. Individual items, for example, can be wrapped in black plastic bags and placed in a hot, sunny location for at least a few days (the 120F minimum target temperature should be monitored in the centermost location with a thermometer). Bedbugs also succumb to cold temperatures below freezing, but the chilling period must be maintained for at least two weeks. Attempts to rid an entire home or apartment of bed bugs by raising or lowering the thermostat will be entirely unsuccessful. Vacuuming can be very useful for removing bugs and eggs from mattresses, carpet, walls, and other surfaces. Pay particular attention to seams, tufts and edges of mattresses and box springs, and the perimeter edge of wall-to-wall carpets. Afterward, dispose of the vacuum contents in a sealed trash bag. Steam cleaning of carpets is also helpful for killing bugs and eggs that vacuuming may have missed. Repair cracks in plaster and glue down loosened wallpaper to eliminate bed bug harborage sites. Remove and destroy wild animal roosts and bird nests when possible.

While the former measures are helpful, insecticides are important for bed bug elimination. Pest control professionals treat using a variety of low-odor sprays, dusts, and aerosols. (Baits designed to control ants and cockroaches are ineffective). Application entails treating all cracks and crevices where the bugs are discovered, or tend to hide. Eliminating bed bugs from mattresses and box springs is challenging. If there are holes or tears in the fabric, the bugs and eggs may be inside, as well as outside. There also are restrictions on how beds can be treated with pesticides. For these reasons, pest control firms often recommend that infested beds be discarded. If disposal isnt an option, encasing the mattress and box spring will be helpful if bugs are still present. (Allergy supply companies sell zippered bed encasements for dust mite prevention). Some pest control firms treat seams, tufts, and crevices of bed components, but they will not spray the mattress surface, bed sheets, blankets, or clothing. Vacuuming and brushing will further help to remove bugs and eggs from mattresses and box springs that cannot be discarded. Some pest control firms also treat beds with portable steam machines. The technique is useful, but does not kill bugs or eggs that are hidden inside the box spring or mattress.

Just spraying pesticides is not the solution! Residual insecticides (usually pyrethroids) are applied as spot treatments to cracks and crevices where bed bugs are hiding. Increased penetration of the insecticide into cracks and crevices can be achieved if accumulated dirt and debris are first removed using a vacuum cleaner. Many readily available aerosol pesticide sprays will cause bed bugs to scatter making eradication more difficult. Dust formulations may be used to treat wall voids and attics. Repeat insecticide applications if bed bugs are present two weeks after the initial treatment since it is difficult to find all hiding places and hidden eggs may have hatched.

Insecticides should not be used on bedding or linens. These items should be dry cleaned or laundered in hot water and dried using the hot setting.

Starting from the top left, moving counter clockwise: eggs (1mm), 1st stage nymph (1.5 mm), 2nd stage nymph (2 mm), 3rd stage nymph (2.5 mm), 4th stage nymph (3 mm), 5th stage nymph (1.5 mm), unfed adult (5.5 mm), and fed adult.

COLUMBUS, Ohio Ohio State University entomologists have found that over-the-counter foggers or bug bombs commonly usedby consumers are not effective at killing bedbugs providing the first scientific evidence that such products should not berecommended for control of this increasingly worrisome, bloodsucking pest. The study appears in the June 2012 issue of theJournal of Economic Entomology, a peer-reviewed publication of the EntomologicalSociety of America. There has always been this perception and feedback from the pest-management industry that over-the-counter foggers are not effectiveagainst bedbugs and might make matters worse, said Susan Jones, an urban entomologist with the universitys Ohio AgriculturalResearch and Development Center (OARDC) and a household and structural pest specialist with Ohio State University Extension. But up until, now there has been no published data regarding the efficacy of foggers against bedbugs.

Because a majority of bedbugs spend most of the time hiding in protected sites (under sheets and mattresses, in cracks and crevices, deep inside carpets, etc.), Jones said it is very unlikely that they will be exposed to the insecticide mist from foggers. And even if theycome into contact with the mist, she added, many bedbug populations found in Ohio and throughout the U.S. have varying degrees ofresistance to pyrethroids and will most likely survive application.

Bug Bombs or total release aerosol insecticides never work for bed bugs and can be very dangerous when used.

The mobile nature of bed bugs limits their prevention. Avoidance is especially challenging in hotels, motels, and apartments because occupants and their belongings are constantly changing. This affords many opportunities for the bugs to be introduced. Householders should be wary of acquiring secondhand beds, bedding, and furniture. At a minimum, such items should be examined closely before being brought into the home. When traveling in countries where bed bugs are prevalent, it might be prudent to examine the bed and headboard area for signs of the bugs, and elevate luggage off the floor. Warehouses, storage facilities, trucks and railroad cars may be infested so common bed bugs can infest homes by stowing away on new furniture stored or shipped from these places. Familiarity may help to avoid infestation, or at least prompt earlier intervention by a professional.

Michael F. Potter, Extension Entomologist University of Kentucky College of Agriculture:

Bed bugs are challenging pests to control. They hide in many tiny places, so inspections and treatments must be very thorough. In most cases, it will be prudent to enlist the services of a professional pest control firm. Experienced companies know where to look for bed bugs, and have an assortment of management tools at their disposal.

Does microwaving kills bugs and eggs? Got Bed Bugs …

March 29th, 2019 by admin

I wouldn’t be surprised if some insects managed to survive longer than a book survives in a microwave.

I had a problem with ants a few months ago. Some of them managed to make their way into my new 1200 W microwave oven, unbeknownst to me. I set the microwave timer to about a minute to warm some food, and as I was removing the food I discovered ants in the oven still moving around. (Don’t know what the microwaving would have done to the reproductive capacity of a juvenile or adult bed bug, but I’d be afraid to take a chance.)

Obviously, this wasn’t a properly controlled experiment in bed bugs elimination. But I had tried with an older, more powerful microwave oven about a year ago to see what the microwave oven does to books. After about 45 seconds, the book pages tended to brown a little, and paperback covers started to curl. The books also got a bit of a slightly-toasted smell to them (not like toasted bread; I’m not really sure how to describe the smell). Of course, it all depends on how long you leave the book in there. After seeing those ants still crawling around, my sense was that the books might be damaged BEFORE the bed bugs were killed. (One factor which makes it harder to interpret what was going on with the ants is that the ants may not have been in the optimal location for receiving/absorbing the microwaves — microwave ovens are designed to deliver the microwaves beam to a specific location a few centimeters above the floor/turntable of the oven, where food is most likely to be placed.)

Note that my new microwave oven’s manual specifically warns against heating paper products and books. And I imagine, although I don’t know, that there might be an issue with books that might have metal in them (metals in the pigments of illustrations on the cover or in the pages of the book, for instance.)

This by far has been the best hotel Ive been to in Manhattan.. I really dont understand the Yelp previous reviews. The only way I can rationalize it .. is that people have purposely posted negative reviews for political reasons. Very sad to see that these people have gone out of their way to give these ratings for vindictive reasons. My husband and I experienced their great spa.. and fitness center is very practical and up to date:-)Concierge goes out of their way to make sure you feel special and recommend the best restaurants. Not only do they do this but they also have a black car to take you there with VIP experience along with complimentary dessert. Security is fantastic.. and housekeeping top of the line. Honestly, theres only positive things to say

Old and run down. Dirt and dust everywhere. Mold in the bathroom. Stained carpets and sheets. Clean your rooms, theyre disgusting.

This place is definitely high class and not for the faint of heart, because its Trumps hotel. Everything here is exquisite and luxurious. If youve got the money, this is the place to be. The concierge service was kind enough to give us directions to where we wanted to go and were not rude to us just because we were simply site seeing.

This hotel is super old and run down. When I got into my room it look as if it had not been cleaned in days the TV was very dusty and there was a ring around the tub. I mentioned it to the front desk but was told it is not their fault and that they clean every day I do not believe this statement. The food in the restaurant wasnt the worst ever but also was not the best I would say it was on par with the run-of-the-mill buffet at Sizzler. Thankfully they were clean towels inside the room and at least the duvet looked clean but the biggest problem was they had no heat in my room and I had to be moved to another room which also had no heat and so had to be moved to the third room. And that room finally had heat. I cannot in good faith recommend this place only stay here if its your last resort and you have absolutely no other place to go.

Probably the best hotel Ive ever stayed at! (And I dont take that lightly) From the moment we got out of the taxi the staff all greeted us and were extremely friendly and helpful. Just waiting to get our baggage checked in we were offered hand towels! We arrived to NYC early just to walk around but we stopped there first to drop off our luggage. But just because they didnt have the room ready for us (which this is 5 hours before our scheduled room was ready) they gave us an upgrade to a Suite! The room was very clean and the room service is outstanding. Great food and great experience! Lovely city view!

Best hotel in NYC. Immaculate rooms and public spaces. Great staff including housekeeping. Class act all around I wouldnt stay anywhere else in NYC.

This was the worst experience ever. Dirty room, molded carpet and no air. All this for only $700

When we go to New York City we always stay at the Trump International. The location is amazing. The park is right out the front door. My wife loves the kitchen in the 2 bedroom suite that we normally stay in. It is nice size and very well appointed. The staff is more then accommodating and friendly. I always feel special when the staff calls you buy name and at the trump they do. The restaurant is fantastic. Hard to get in and a little stuffy but fantastic food. Right across the street is a Whole Foods. We usually make that our first visit after checking in. The house car will take you nearly anywhere if you dont want to walk. I would suggest you stay at the trump international when you visit NYC. You will not be disappointed.

I gave this review for the service, not for POLITIC purpose! Some of angry no brain people attacked me because I gave a good review! Please! If you are understand ENGLISH! Just go to another website for POLITIC! I have nothing to do with it I just stayed in this hotel for my anniversary! Please being smart dude! I live in Williamsburgh, Brooklyn but my husband wanted to surprise me for our anniversary by taking me stay over night in Manhattan. He choose this place because it is next to Central park and we can enjoy waking up in the morning and see Central park view. Room is nice and clean and giving out the elegant look, service is good, staff is professional. Price is high but I think it just one time in your life Im ok with that.

Trump International Hotel, 1 Central Park west Manhattan. Cant believe how great this place is. Hotel staff is second to none. Our room is great, park view and on the 9th floor. Totally worth every penny. Competitively priced for its location. Just minutes walking distance to fine dining, Broadway shows and or comedy clubs. Great location to depart from if taking a cab across town to other attractions. Quite possibly the best hotel stay I have ever experienced.

From the moment we arrived ( my husband and IOur two daughters age 17 and 13)First class treatment!!Picked up by private car service we ordered through theTrump hotelGreeted us on time with a sign at the luggage area.We were again treated with a nice welcome uponArriving at the hotel with friendly service and beverages. The two bedrooms sweet was spacious with Comfortable bed and very nice linens. The people working the front deskGreeted us Dailey and the door guys were so sweet. We had used the hotel car service multiple timesWhich was great .Central location and walking distance to Shops and bars. Both managers went out of their way as wellTo insure we had a fabulous vacation!Thank you allWe will be back

First off its hard to rate luxury brand hotels like Trump International Hotel and even harder when its tied to the politics of the day so Im posting this as a well traveled, typical Intercontinental hotels kind of person. Staff: 100% Why Im rating the hotel 5 Stars is the staff. Every member of the staff was phenomenal and kept my daughter and I totally happy. We wore our Mexico Soccer jerseys the one day and the staff loved it! Location: I personally dont think any location could beat this in NYC. Central Park, Columbus Circle and every other mid town venue within walking distance. Subway is a few steps from the hotel. Dining: Perfect. Actual physical building: Trump International is an aging building for sure and the rooms and hallways are definitely showing their age. I think the cracks and damage adds character but I can understand why others criticize the hotel for falling apart. No public viewing area on top of the hotel was extremely disappointing. The pool is large for NYC standards but not if youre used to traveling and staying in other +5 star locations. Couple side notes:The Trump Hotels are the safest places on earth. At any given time they have at least 10 NYPD police cars around the property. I totally appreciated this traveling with my daughter and seeing all the negative media coverage and hate surrounding Trump. The Trump bottled water is amazing, the blue labeled one, not the grey. I know this sounds dumb but we loved the water!!! Milk and cookies waiting for us in our room after walking the town was a cool. The price to stay is steep and no major perks come with the high price so I do caution people not to set their expectations too high.

Had a visit with my friend here, within an hour of putting my things away, a bedbug ran across the pillow. The front desk acted like there wasnt a problem. Needles to say, I was out of there in 5 min.

This was the worst hotel experience ever. The room was so dirty. There were bed bugs, hair in the shower and Im not real sure the sheets had been changed. Never coming back!

Trump Hotel NYC Used to LOVE it!, but now so sure we even like it anymore. The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly. My wife and I have stayed at the Trump Intl Hotel NYC several times, WAY before the Donald before became Commander-In-Chief, and we usually go back there for the service, location, and view. However, Im sad to report that our last experience, just this Monday & Tuesday past, was less than we usually experience whilst staying there. Now Im not a big reviewer, but we were so disappointed this last stay that well, just had to. Before I go into the negatives (unfortunately more than there should be) let me throw a few props for most of the staff: Bartenders ALWAYS recognize us and we only visit once or twice a year, maids (the maid manager we less so) are super sweet and courteous, doormen are professionals and its because of them that I gave the Trump 2 stars v. 1. If it werent for past, positive experiences my wife and I would be done with this hotel. And that sucks!!! The Bad. I made reservations a few weeks before our travels for the same room style on a high floor, didnt think it would become an issue as were use to traveling this time of year and it has never been an issue to date. I mean we were just there a month ago when we ran the NYC Marathonwhat happened?! So the room wasnt ready until 6 pm which really wasnt that big of a deal, this time, as we had plenty of time before dinner and did a bit of shopping. Otherwise that would have made this a solid 1 review if we were in a hurry. On Check-In No higher rooms available, sorry as I requested. Okay its only 2 nights and we can handle the street noise for that longgot it. I mean I spent 3 months under the #2 trap wire on an aircraft carrier in the Persian Gulf so noise isnt THAT big a deal, but the wifeyless so. Now the ugly, which for me is a potential deal breaker. Regardless of the fact that is was a late check-in and the fact that we werent getting our usual room on a higher floor were happy to be back in the NYC for some serious adult time. We go into the room and it literally smelled like i just walked into a tired-ass spring break hotel in Florida RIGHT after spring break. Being from Florida, know the smell. It stunk of cleaning fluids and whatever else. NOT the worse part. The bed washmmm, disheveled may be the nicest way to put it. A bunch of random pillows thrown on the bed with no rhyme or reason, but thats really not what bothered me. Someone else was in the bed. Of course there was, you may say as its a hotel dummy, but i mean like a few minutes before! Weird! Ass prints on BOTH sides of the bed and not ours obviously, what the hell? Now Im a retired Navy Diver/Bomb Expert with 3 combat tours so Im not prone to hyperbole, but the threat assessment portion of my brain is telling something is amiss. So I contact the front desk and ask Whats going on here, not use to this level of service from you?. This is the ugly part. Both the Maid Manager AND the Front Desk said, That is your pillow profile and the room looked good a moment ago. Really? Never had a pillow profile the previous several times before and if i did it wouldnt have been that..just a pillow or two cleanly tucked away on the bed where they should be, not a mountain of random pillows at the end of the bed. The ass prints on both sides of the bed, well, they completely blew that fact off. Ass prints on both sides of the bed, hmmmmI know what that means to me. Its that response alone that has us looking somewhere else for our next trip to NYC. Huge Bummer! PLEASE TIGHTEN UP!!!!!To closeNever say anything in a letter, email, or text you wouldnt say personally.- Perry, CEO & Retired War Vet

My friend and I splurged on our stay here. Weve both stayed in some very nice hotels but this one was epic posh. Our room was immaculate, second to none. You know how difficult it is to keep the edges of a faucet nice after a lot of use? Spotless. Or how few hotels vacuum the edges of the carpet by the baseboard? Spotless. Or how crazy it seems for a hotel to dress the furniture in light-colored fabric that is probably silk? They do and again, it was spotless. We chose the larger suite with bedroom, living room and small kitchen. We never sought out the view of Central Park because we were just as happy with a city view. We were on the fifth floor and the floors were so QUIET. Everything from the pen/stationery set to the towels (thick and huge) were beautiful and plush. The Keurig machine was quiet, didnt know they could be. The nightly slipper service and treats on the nightstand were appreciated. My friend and I asked for a late checkout our last day so we could enjoy the room before we would have to go back to the real world! When I returned home, I immediately started to prepare my husband for our upcoming stay at this hotel that he doesnt know about yet. :)Yes, the lobby isnt very big, but I imagine the restaurant on the same level is the reason for that. The staff was fabulous we especially loved Christopher who is from St. Louis!

The Trump hotels service is exceptional. From the moment we stepped foot into the hotel we were treated amazingly. The staff was always very friendly and committed to our needs. The hotel rooms are amazingly spacious, especially the suits. The room service cheeseburger is delicious. Maid service is AM & PM, and they do a great job at making the room spotless. This is my second time staying at this property, and I will be returning.

I just feel it has become an overly overrated hotel. The rooms are clean but standard. Location is nice outside Central Park. Too expensive for my taste but apparently not for the 1%. Lots of tourist outside taking photos for god knows what reason. Makes it hard to maneuver sidewalk. Definitely will not stay here again.

The service is fantastic and very welcoming. Anything you need is provided at a moments notice. The beds are extremely comfortable, offering a selection of pillows for any need. The location was ideal-next to the subway, Central Park access and Columbus Circle. This location is wonderful for people who want to get away from the loud city noises but still be close to it all. The views from the hotelwhether park or city are superb.

My wife and I checked out this morning after staying for three nights. We greatly enjoyed the hotel, in particular, the staff. Franklyn and Vladimir were extremely helpful with respect to concierge services. They arranged, rearranged, and rearranged again our plans when necessary. They stocked our refrigerator with our requests exactly as ordered. The staff ironed my jacket for our night of fine dining and returned it to our closet earlier than requested. We asked for a room on a high floor in a corner, and this was exactly what we received. We also asked for an early check-in, which was not a problem. The room was extremely clean. After reading some of the 1-star reviews here, I have to wonder if some of the poor reviews are politically driven. The lobby is small but nice. I was expecting something on a grander scale. Having said that, it had an intimate feel. From the moment we checked in, the staffboth day and nightcalled us by name. It seemed they knew us without ever having met us. This was a nice touch. We were impressed. When compared to NYC hotel icons such as the Ritz-Carlton and The Plaza, the cost is significantly better. We would recommend this hotel.

Bed Bug Dog False Positive? – Bed bugs …

The only way that those bonds break is when one or both parties realises what they are going has legal ramifications or if the client gets complaints that the PCO’s methods do not appear to be working. Its common in pest control where the “bug guy got us out of the sling last time and we hate to even think about pest control”. Increasingly in the UK companies are employing consultants to write better specifications for pest control service to move away from the personal relationships like this.

Sorry the auto correct on my phone introduced a mistake, it should have read:

The adjoining units should be checked, for them to be your source the infestation would be easy to spot as bedbugs don’t skip from one unit to the next, the set up a base camp and move out to colonise from there.

I am in a different time zone to many of you so my evenings tend to reply via a phone which means fewer links and pictures within my posts.

Sorry there is just too much of what they have said wrong to ID it all without it looking like a massacre or assassination. Its better for you to read up and see from here and the other quality linked websites how off base they are being with their comments, even the car comment is so wrong its a common post on here.

Please look at my comments here about wall installation of Passive Monitors, I personally do not recommend that, its a hang over from something in the past. The most comprehensive information is on my link below as well as the installation advice you will read on the forum:

The only good news on this one is that it really sounds as if you don’t have a significant issue with bedbugs or you would have been able to find signs that the K9 team did not bother to look for.

It may even be that you have never had bedbugs and in which case the stress you are currently under is “shame on them for not being professional and doing the right job”.

Hope that makes sense.

In accordance with the AUP and FTC I openly disclose my vested interest in Passive Monitors as the inventor.

Can You Get Bed Bugs In Your Car? | Atlantic Bed Bug …

The answer, unfortunately, has been obvious for some time. Four recent customer experiences (all within the last month) provide evidence that the days of not worrying about a possible bed bug infestation in your car isnt a good idea:

Instance 1: We received a call from a mother whos child received bites while riding in the back seat of her car. The child was bitten on her foot 3 times, and it wasnt until a few minutes after the 3rd bite that the child felt an itching sensation on her foot. This family was certain that the child did not have the bites before getting into the car. When I met the family later that day, there was no doubt in my mind the bites were a classic triangular bed bug pattern.

Instance 2: A woman noticed that there was a bug on her car door, but wasnt sure what kind of bug it was.She taped the bug to her door, and when I drove to her house, it was clearly an adult-size bed bug.

Instance 3:In a case where someone had a bed bug infestation in their home, his worries about his car became well-founded when we trapped a bed bug inside a Climb-Up Insect Interceptor utilizing vials of recently-fed bed bugs as the attractant.

Instance 4: one passenger in a car noticed a bed bug on the shoulder of another passenger.

If youve obtained a bed bug infestation, you can start to think of the ways you transported the bugs home with you, and your car will become one of the possibilities. For that reason, a bed bugs that has hitchhiked inside of your car may station itself there, and our experience is that a bed bug may not always be able to move quickly enough towards a person (or item) when given the chance. Also, bed bugs inside a vehicle are not being subjected to extreme weather bed bugs are generally able to survive in tempatures slightly above freezing, to 100 degrees or more, for extended periods of time.

That said, what action(s) can you take towards clearing your car of a possible infestation? Without question, a part of your car treatment plan shouldinclude cleaning your car thoroughly, and vacuuming it just as thoroughly.

A very sensible option (should you be able to find it) would be to hire a company that can provide thermal heating of your vehicles interior. If a company can safely heat the interior of your car to at least 118 degrees and maintain that heat throughout your cars shaded and non-shaded areas for an extended period of time, it becomes an excellent solution. Heat has proven to be the best remediation of bed bugs currently available.

If you chose a do-it-yourself optionthat involves spraying your car with pesticides, keep in mind that all insecticides are specifically labeled, and those instructions should be followed at all times. Also, always protect your eyes, mouth, and hands whileapplying any insecticide. Take every precaution to insure you are not applying an insecticide that may leave behind an undesired stain on your vehicles upholstery. Lastly, keep in mind that pesticides are not alwayseffective especially when theyre not coming into direct contact with the intended target.
